SNC successfully held the 45th annual meeting in Nome on June 1, 2019. SNC Shareholders gathered in Nome to celebrate our Corporation’s successes, hear reports, share questions or comments, and vote on four Board of Directors.
The Inspector of Elections reported a quorum with 50.6% of shares represented. After the close of balloting, the Inspector of Elections reported the following four Shareholders were elected to the board of directors with terms ending at the 48th annual meeting:

LieuDell (Ayaaq) Goldsberry
Joel (Jay) A. Craft, Jr.
Joseph A. Garnie
The annual meeting opened with breakfast and subsidiary information tables sharing updates from Sitnasuak’s family of businesses. The Ugiuvak Dancers and Drummers of Nome performed at 9 am. Mrs. Della Walluk was recognized as the 2018 Elder of the Year for SNC.
There was a special guest presentation on Inupiaq Language Revitalization given by Ms. Tattauq Josie Bourdon, Ms. Kiminaq Maddy Alvanna-Stimpfle and Ms. Ilivik Hattie Keller. The presentations were inspirational and encouraged our community to speak, learn and revitalize the Inupiaq language in Nome and the Bering Strait region.
28 employees from SNC and subsidiaries were recognized for 5-, 10-, 15-, 20- and 25-years of service. Mr. David Evans was also recognized for graduating from SNC’s Ubluġiaq Qazgi – Shareholder Executive Leadership Program during 2018.
Ms. Roberta “Bobbi” Quintavell provided a management report that highlighted SNC’s profitability, dividends, scholarships and charitable giving for the last five-years. Overall Sitnasuak is successful village corporation providing important benefits to the Shareholders and the community.
Congratulations to the early bird, e-voting and proxy prize winners. The proxy prize drawings were random and conducted by the Inspector of Elections to ensure it was fair.
