Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) is accepting nominations for the 2025 Elder of the Year. SNC has presented the Elder of the Year Award annually to one male and one female Shareholder who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the well-being of Sitnasuak and our people. Awardees will be announced at the 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.  

Please consider nominating SNC Elder Shareholders who you feel deserve recognition. The nomination form is available online at snc.org.  There are also nomination forms available in both SNC offices, and a form was included in the 2024 Fall Venture.

Nomination Guidelines: 

• Nominee must be an SNC Elder Shareholder, aged 65 years or older. 

• Nominations can only be submitted by SNC Shareholders. 

• Shareholders may submit nominations for both male and female categories. 

• Nominations should demonstrate the nominee’s significant contributions to preserving 

and showcasing our culture and heritage and/or service to our community. 

• Nominations must be submitted using this nomination form and include detailed 

information supporting the nomination. You may provide letters of support in addition to the application. All information will be used at SNC’s discretion. 

• Nominees convicted of a felony regardless of the jurisdiction will not be considered. Nominees convicted of a misdemeanor will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

• SNC requests that the winning nominees be present at the respective Annual Meeting. 

The date and time of the Annual Meeting will be announced in March.
