Sitnasuak Foundation is seeking a board member to serve a three-year term. Shareholders and interested individuals are invited to submit a letter of interest by 4:00 P.M AKDT November 1, 2019.
As background, the primary goal of the Sitnasuak Foundation is to provide support for the education and cultural needs of Alaska Natives and descendants of Alaska Natives, and particularly those Alaska Natives and descendants of Alaska Natives residing in the Native Village of Nome pursuant to section five of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). The Sitnasuak Foundation endeavors to serve these needs by offering educational and cultural opportunities to eligible persons.
Applicants for the board must be at least 19 years or older and an Alaska resident. Applicants cannot be a person holding salaried public office or become a candidate for such office. Sitnasuak Native Corporation Shareholders and Descendants, and Sitnasuak Foundation Scholarship Alumni are encouraged to apply.
The Foundation Board generally meets quarterly. Letters of interest should include a brief introduction, overview of qualifications, and key points of consideration with a resume and any additional information.
