Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) is hosting a series of Shareholder Informational Meetings in Nome on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, and warmly invites Shareholders to participate.
“We welcome our Shareholders and their families to join us for a day of information and an evening of celebration. We have had a great year and look forward to the opportunity to provide updates and information from Sitnasuak,” shared Bobby Evans board chair.
The first meeting is at 10:00 a.m. as a Shareholder workshop on Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Settlement Trusts and the proposed SNC Trust by Mr. Bruce Edwards from Sorensen & Edwards, P.S. The presentation will be at the Sitnasuak downtown Nome office building at 214 Front Street in the second-floor board room and open to all Shareholders.
The second meeting is at 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. for one-on-one Q&A (questions and answers) on the proposed SNC Trust with Mr. Bruce Edwards. He will be available to meet with Shareholders in person at the Nome Shareholder Department or available for individual phone-call questions at 907-387-1200 or toll-free at 1-877-443-2632. This is a great opportunity for Shareholders to ask questions and hear explanations on the SNC Trust as well as any homebound individuals and Elders.
The third meeting is at the Nome Mini-Convention Center with the following schedule of activities:
Gail Schubert, president and CEO of Bering Straits Native Corporation, will be the guest speaker at the meeting. She will address Shareholders on the topic of ANCSA trusts that can significantly benefit both Alaska Native corporations and Shareholders. Mr. Bruce Edwards will also present to Shareholders on the proposed SNC Trust.
“Our management team wanted to ensure Shareholders have an opportunity to gather and hear from the Corporation on our performance as well provide presentations on the two resolutions currently available for Shareholder vote,” said Sitnasuak President and CEO Bobbi Quintavell. “We are looking forward to seeing all Shareholders in Nome on August 22nd.”
To encourage participation, Shareholders in attendance and present at the evening informational meeting are eligible for in-person door prizes. A Shareholder table will also be provided for information on stock wills, gifting shares, scholarships and other benefits. At the Nome Mini-Convention Center, Shareholder artists may also request a table to sell arts and crafts – please contact Marilyn Koezuna-Irelan for information at (907) 387-1200.
